DOLYDD COTTAGE is located in MAENTWROG VILLAGE

 

The village of Maentwrog, nestled in the woodland hills in the Vale of Ffestiniog, lies in an area of outstanding natural beauty and is at the heart of the Snowdonia National Park, North Wales.

 

It is perfectly located between the castle town of Harlech (20 mins drive), with it's beautiful long white sand beach, and the harbour port of Porthmadog (15 mins drive).  It is within touching distance of some beautiful location that include Borth y Gest and Black Rock sands with 3 miles of sandy beach.  A short 10 minute drive takes you to Blaenau Ffestiniog and it's world famous quarries and Antur Stiniog with it's brand new biking centre.  Further away towards Dolgellau, you will find Coed y Brening and it's world acclaimed forest trail & walking centre. 

 

From Maentwrog, there are wonderful walks with breathtaking scenery, rivers and waterfalls, that included Coed Llyn Mair near the Ffestiniog Railway halt in Maentwrog. 

 

The village benefits from good public transport with regular buses travelling to Pwllheli, Porthadog, Harlech, Dolgellau and Blaenau Ffestiniog. 

 

The Cambrian Coast railway that travels between Aberystwyth and Pwllheli, is only a few miles away.  The nearest stations are Penrhyndeudraeth and Llandecwyn.
